Core values

Hurd Safety

Safety

When contributing to the community, users do so anonymously, and should avoid naming people, and sharing confidential, non-public internal company information.  This, coupled with these community guidelines, encourages transparent sharing of information while protecting individuals.

Hurd Honesty

Honesty

In return for anonymity, users are expected to share a truthful representation of their experiences.  Likewise, we will never edit the text of reviews or comments, no matter how minor.

Hurd Inclusion

Inclusion

All are welcome at Hurd.  Users must not use profanities, threats of violence, or discriminatory language targeted at individuals or groups.

Contribution guidelines

When contributing in Hurd, please adhere to the following guidelines.  Contributions which don't meet the guidelines may be removed.

  1. Your contribution should be truthful and constitute your own personal opinion and experience. We don’t take sides when it comes to factual disputes, so we expect you to stand behind your statements expressed in your content.
  2. We encourage you to share positive experiences just as much as negative ones - we believe that balanced contributions make for a better community experience.
  3. Contributions should not include negative comments about identifiable individuals.
  4. Contributions should not include certain profanities, threats of violence, or discriminatory language targeted at individuals or groups.
  5. Contributions must not reveal confidential, non-public internal company information. We consider this to include: source code, customer lists, manufacturing techniques, R&D activities, budgets, detailed financial results, and technical know-how.
  6. Contributions should not identify yourself or include any contact information (about yourself or others).
  7. Contributions should be relevant and should relate to the questions asked.  We will reject any contribution meant as an advertisement.
  8. All contributions should be original – no substantial quoted material from other sources, including (but not limited to) websites, e-mail correspondence, other contributions, etc.
  9. Your writing doesn't have to be perfect, but we need to be able to understand it. Contributions shouldn't include excessive capitalization or filler words/characters. And remember, your contribution will be more credible if you use good grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  10. Our Community Guidelines and moderation policies take into consideration applicable laws in the different international markets in which Hurd operates.
  11. When including images in your contribution, please don't post:
    • screenshots (Videoconferencing photos are allowed but cannot contain employee names, locations, or images of minors, or anything in our sole discretion that we deem inappropriate.)
    • photos of marketing material, logos, or websites
    • portraits of individuals
    • photos of patients in a healthcare setting
    • photos that document workplace violations or disclose confidential information
    • photos not relevant to the contribution

Important Information

We love it when companies encourage their employees to share honest contributions on Hurd, but do not offer incentives in exchange for contributions. We will remove positive reviews where we have evidence that employees were compensated and/or coerced into contributing. Hurd believes in anonymity, so we don’t allow employers to ask workers to show confirmation of contributing on Hurd.

We expect all of our users to follow these guidelines, as well as Hurd's Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.  Hurd reserves the right to remove a contribution at any time for any reason. The contributions approved and posted on Hurd are individual and highly subjective opinions. The opinions expressed in reviews are those of Hurd users and not of Hurd or its affiliates.

If you see something on Hurd that you believe violates our guidelines, contact us to let us know and we will investigate.  We will reply via email with our decision; we do not accept or return phone calls. Keep in mind that flagging a piece of content to us for a second look does not guarantee that it will be removed from the site. Because of the diversity of our community, it's possible that something could be disagreeable or disturbing to you without meeting the criteria for being removed or blocked.

We ask our users to understand that we apply the same standard of review for all content (whether or not the content concerns an employer client of Hurd). Ultimately, content decisions are within our sole discretion and we do not negotiate about our application of a guideline to our final decision as to whether or not a piece of content warrants removal.
